In Moscow, you can visit iconic landmarks such as Red Square and the Moscow Kremlin, as well as explore the impressive Moscow Metro system and art galleries. Day 1: Arrive in Moscow and check into your hotel. Start your day with a visit to the iconic Red Square and admire the colorful St. Basil's Cathedral. Visit the Moscow Kremlin, the seat of the Russian government and home to the Tsar Bell and Tsar Cannon. In the evening, enjoy a walk around to the most famous Arbatskaya Street, local cuisine and souvenir shops.
Day 2: Take a tour of the impressive Moscow Metro system and marvel at the beautiful stations. Visit the Tretyakov Gallery, home to a vast collection of Russian art. Explore the GUM department store, one of Moscow's most historic shopping destinations. In the evening, consider visiting the Moscow Circus or the Moscow Philharmonic.
Day 3: Take a high-speed train Sapsan from Moscow to Saint Petersburg (journey takes around 4 hours).Check into your hotel and enjoy a relaxing stroll along the Neva River. Visit the Hermitage Museum, one of the largest and most impressive museums in the world, housing over three million exhibits. Admire the stunning Church of the Savior on Blood, with its colorful onion domes.
Day 4: Take a tour of the magnificent Peterhof Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the "Russian Versailles". Visit the Peter and Paul Fortress, the birthplace of St. Petersburg and the final resting place of the Romanovs. Take a boat ride along the canals and enjoy the picturesque views of St. Petersburg's architecture. In the evening, consider attending a ballet or opera performance at the Mariinsky Theatre.
Day 5: Visit the Catherine Palace and its famous Amber Room, a marvel of Baroque art and design. Explore the nearby town of Pushkin, with its lovely park and palace complex. Return to St. Petersburg for a final stroll around the city and some souvenir shopping. Depart St. Petersburg for your onward journey.
